Man arrested for stalking Jewel
A man has been arrested and placed in the Erath County, Texas jail for allegedly stalking the singer-songwriter Jewel Kilcher. On September 14, Michael Lawrence Kozelka, 50, was found on the 2,000 acre ranch owned by Jewel and her rodeo champion husband, Ty Murray. Kozelka was warned to leave the property. He returned, however, the next day and was discovered in the main ranch house with a pocket knife.
Kozelka was apprehended by local officials without incident. The suspect said he was on a mission from God and had been led to the ranch. He was charged with third-degree felony stalking. He is being held in the County jail in Stephenville, Texas, about 70 miles southwest of Fort Worth, on $30,000 bail. If convicted of the charges, Kolzelka faces up to 10 years in prison.
